Who is responsible

The controller of this website is Emmanouil Kougioumoutzakis, operating Villa GGK, Skepasti, Rethymno, Crete, Greece. Contact: info@villaggk.com.

Visiting this website

This website is hosted by Netlify. When you visit it, the server records technical data such as your IP address, the page requested, the date and time and your browser type. We need this to deliver the site and keep it secure (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools. Our fonts and images are served from our own site.

Cookies

We do not set cookies for tracking or advertising, so we do not show a cookie banner. The booking calendar and payment forms are provided by third parties (see below) and may store technically necessary data in your browser to work.

Email sign-up form

If you enter your email address to hear when dates open, we store your email address and the language of the page. We use it only to tell you about open dates (consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). The form is processed by Netlify and the submission is sent to our mailbox. You can unsubscribe at any time by writing to us, and we will then delete your address.

Contacting us

If you write to info@villaggk.com or message us on WhatsApp, we use your details only to answer you and to handle your enquiry or booking. Mail sent to info@villaggk.com is forwarded by our domain provider to our mailbox. WhatsApp is operated by Meta and handles messages under its own privacy policy. Clicking the WhatsApp button opens the app and sends nothing by itself.

Bookings and payments

Bookings are handled by our booking system provider, RentalWise. Card payments are processed by Stripe. They receive the data needed to make and pay for your booking (such as name, contact details, dates, number of guests and payment details). We receive the booking details and do not see your full card number. We process this data to carry out the booking contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and keep booking records for as long as Greek tax and accounting law requires (Art. 6(1)(c)).

Map

The map in the Location section is provided by OpenStreetMap. When it loads, your IP address is sent to the OpenStreetMap servers so that the map can be shown. The map shows only the approximate area.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability and to withdraw consent at any time. Write to info@villaggk.com. You can also complain to a data protection authority, for example the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (www.dpa.gr) or the authority in your own country.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
